Our Story
Our Beginning
The Collie Providore was founded in 2023 by two food enthusiasts, Rom and Steve. We started the business with a vision of supporting small batch artisan food makers from South West WA, particularly the Collie and Bunbury Geographe area. With a small but dedicated team, our goal was to curate a unique and delicious range of speciality foods that would delight customers.
Collie being surrounded with amazing unique lakes and beautiful national parks, is an adventurers playground. With hiking, biking and cultural trails being developed over the last few years, the tourism industry was growing quickly and we were excited to open a store to create a foodie experience for locals and visitors alike.
In 2024, Collie was awarded Bronze in the WA Top Tourism Town Awards and named as a Premier Trail Town along with Dwellingup. We are thrilled to be part of the diversification of this beautiful town.
Our Passion
At The Collie Providore, we are passionate about food. We believe that food is more than just sustenance - it is a way to connect with others, to explore different cultures and flavours, and to experience joy and pleasure. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing family and friends enjoy a meal prepared with love and care.
We love to discover an exciting new product or supplier and experiment with different flavour combinations using the locally sourced products we stock. We are happy to share our recommendations for pairings with you - just ask!
We believe that trying before you buy is a fantastic way to experience something new, so we offer tastings of many of the products we stock. We rotate through our range of cheeses but many other products are available. If you see something you'd like to try, let us know.
Our Products
We offer a wide range of speciality foods, including handcrafted cheeses, artisanal cured meats, condiments, pickled vegetables, olive oils, nougat, chocolate and fudge. Where possible we source our products within 200km of Collie, preferably within the Bunbury Geographe area, reducing food miles and supporting local artisans. All of our stocked products are made with care and attention to detail, using only the finest ingredients.
We offer a selection of gift boxes, picnic packs and food hampers by pre order. If you are arriving to town late, contact us to see if we can organise a hamper delivery to your accommodation.
With a convenient location on the main street of Collie and ample parking, we are an ideal spot for a takeaway coffee or tea when travelling through town. We use freshly roasted beans from Leftfield Coffee Roasters and hand blended teas from Ruby Tea. There are a few seats at the shop but if they are taken, enjoy a stroll through town taking in the mural trail, historic buildings and unique country shops.
